It's me, your teacher, Ms. Leahy! I've compiled this website as a starting point for our research into Protest Songs. Protest Songs can serve as a wake up call, a reminder, or a call to action, especially for those of us with privilege. Please look through the artists and songs I've compiled so far. There may be some that you know already, and some may be totally new to you! Throughout the year, you will be conducting research on a specific artist, group, or song. Your research will then be published onto this site! This will be a living, breathing resource for us as we explore the Black Arts Movement, Black Culture, Protest Songs, and ways music can be used to promote social change.
